It took a couple of attempts to boot after that and I found the following in the logs. I rebuilt the laptop from scratch and it worked perfectly for 3 days and then this morning shortly after waking it up I had the issue again. Weird.Īnyone know what's going on here? Now, I am operating in Safe Mode.all seems to be well except I once again have the stack of horizontal lines attached to my mouse arrow. FINALLY, "safe mode" worked, but it took a loooong time. However, tonight nothing worked-reset the PRAM, did the ctrl + Apple + p + r + power thing, nothing.
I've always been able to get it to restart eventually-usually by removing the battery, unplugging the power cord, holding down the power button for 20 secs, then replacing battery, reconnecting power cord, pressing power (an Apple IT person taught me this over the phone once). No status bar, no rainbow swirl, it just stays and stays on the blue screen. I can always still move the mouse arrow around, but cannot click on anything etc.ģ-I can only shut down by holding down the power buttonĤ-Upon restarting, computer will get as far as the blue screen and freeze. It happens like this, in this chronological order:ġ-A row of horizontal lines will appear "attached" to the bottom right corner of mouse arrowĢ-Computer freezes.
